Who I am
I’ve always believed that strong communities are built through collective action, compassionate leadership, and a commitment to making life better for everyone. My journey in Strathcona County began as a volunteer, where I dedicated myself to causes that directly impact our residents. From the Transportation and Traffic Safety Task Force, Strathcona County Victim Services, my work with these organizations has given me a unique insight into the challenges and opportunities we face as a community.
One experience that profoundly shaped my desire to enter municipal politics was my time on the Strathcona County Youth Justice Committee. Working with young people, I saw the immense potential our community holds when we invest in our youth and create pathways for their success. This, combined with my advocacy for accessible and efficient transportation solutions, reinforced my belief that local government has a crucial role in shaping a better future. And in early 2025, I decided to run for City Councilour in Ward 2.
But beyond my volunteer roles, it’s my interactions with fellow residents that have inspired me the most. Whether it’s listening to a parent share their concerns about community safety or collaborating with local leaders to support vulnerable populations, I’ve seen how much we care about our county and how much we can achieve when we work together.
I want to be a voice for our community, ensuring that our local government reflects the values, concerns, and hopes of every resident. My goal is to build on the strong foundation we’ve already laid and to bring fresh ideas, energy, and transparency to the decision-making process.
This community has shaped my values and my sense of responsibility. Over the years, I have seen the incredible potential of our county and the unique challenges we face as we continue to grow and evolve.
